What are our core values?
Your subheading here
Not only are you more than your relationship status, but also more than your job title, degrees, diagnoses, or roles in the family.
It's important as people of faith to remember that God is MORE than any struggle or problem that we bring to Him.
With graduate degrees in both Marriage and Family Therapy and Theology, Annie is competent and willing to integrate faith into sessions at the client's request.
"The body, and it alone, is capable of making visible what is invisible: the spiritual and the divine. It was created to transfer into the visible reality of the world the mystery hidden since time immemorial in God [God’s love for man], and thus to be a sign of it." – Theology of the Body
Annie Harton is a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Indiana and sees individuals, couples, and families in therapy. Prior to her graduate studies in counseling, she earned an MA in Theology from Notre Dame through the Echo Program. As a Catholic Christian therapist she is able to integrate faith and prayer into sessions upon request.
Using narrative techniques, she helps clients to encounter their personal stories in a new way. Using emotion-focused techniques, she helps clients express their primary emotions and needs. Using the Gottman Method, she helps couples build a Strong Relationship House and combat the Four Horsemen. She specializes in preparing couples for marriage and working with married couples who have felt stuck, disconnected, and unheard. She is trained in the following assessments: SYMBIS/SYMBIS+, PREPARE/ENRICH, Gottman Relationship Checkup, and FOCCUS/REFOCCUS.
Outside of the office, she is a published author, photographer, and ballroom dancer. Her book Single Truth: You are more than your relationship status has inspired her to remind all clients that they are not defined by their jobs, relationships, or diagnoses.
